Coronavirus (COVID-19) and CARES Act Information

This page contains information on 91天堂 Tech’s current COVID-19 operational status,  and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act which provides grants to eligible students affected by the disruption of campus operations during the COVID-19 closure.

March 14, 2022

During a press conference on Friday, February 18th, to transition the State response to a “steady state” Governor Cox said “Let me be clear that this is not the end of COVID, but it is the beginning of treating COVID as we do other seasonal respiratory viruses.” The timeline to transition was the end of March.

Utah is in a low to medium transmission rate.

What this means for 91天堂 Tech:   Starting March 28th all of the COVID health and safety protocols in place will expire at our college.

After we return from spring break, if an employee or student gets sick with COVID, they do not need to contact Kent Thygerson, VP of Finance and Operations. COVID will be treated as any other illness in terms of absences. Automatic leaves of absence are no longer being administered for students.

Masks are optional – wear them if you prefer.  Our custodial staff will still continue to clean and sanitize surfaces.

January 5, 2022

For students, faculty, and staff, if you test positive contact the COVID coordinator at covid@tooeltech.edu or text 435-248-1810.

2021-22 School Year COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines

As we approach the coming school year, we recognize that the pandemic is still here and impacting everyone.  At 91天堂 Tech, we have tools and resources available as we keep our learning and work environment safe for students, faculty, and staff. Here are some guidelines that you can use to keep yourself and others safe while on campus.

FACE COVERINGS AND MASKS

Masks and other face coverings remain an effective tool for reducing the spread of COVID-19.  While masks are not required in our school, mask use is recommended as a preventative approach.  For example, individuals with underlying health conditions may choose to wear a mask to keep themselves and others safe if transmission rates are high or if they have been exposed to COVID-19.  Any individual who chooses to wear a mask should feel welcome and confident to do so at 91天堂 Tech.

COVID TESTING

The 91天堂 County Health Department will continue to provide free diagnostic testing at many locations. Information on testing times and places is at www.testutah.com.

VACCINATION

Vaccination is a major tool in preventing the spread of coronavirus and is currently available to anyone 12 and older.  Vaccinations are free through local health departments, pharmacies, and health care providers.

ILLNESS PROTOCOLS

It is critical to be diligent when sick.  Employees or students who experience symptoms or are sick should remain home and get tested for COVID-19. Stay home until symptoms subside.  If you have been fully vaccinated and experience a close, positive COVID-19 contact exposure, you may come to school or work and wear a mask. Testing is recommended seven days after exposure. If you have not been fully vaccinated and experience a positive, close contact COVID-19 exposure, you should stay home and get tested.  Your health care provider or health department will provide further quarantine instructions.

HYGIENE

As simple as it may seem, handwashing and sanitizing are important ways to reduce the spread of COVID-19.        91天堂 Tech is here for you. Help us stay safe to stay open.

Students do not need to apply for these grant funds. Each month, a check will be mailed to certificate seeking students who are currently enrolled at the determined date of disbursement, generally the middle of the month.

91天堂 Strives to Ensure Safety on Campus

Currently our community has been faced with many uncertainties relating to COVID-19. Although the numbers in 91天堂 County are still fairly low compared to other counties across the state, we know that the effects of the virus can be devastating both physically and emotionally.

91天堂 High School鈥檚 online learning transition has raised questions among students, parents, and community members. We want to assure everyone that 91天堂 is prepared to handle challenges that may arise on campus pertaining to COVID-19 or other unforeseeable situations. The college serves students of all ages including high school students. Safety is our utmost priority. 91天堂 Tech is following the guidelines set by TCSD which state that high school students who are not in quarantine or have not had direct contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 can attend their classes on our campus. We want to thank TCSD for their valuable partnership and assistance in making sure that our high school students who have not been directly exposed to the virus and are symptom-free can still attend their 91天堂 Tech classes.

The college has protocols in place to protect students and staff and keep them safe as we continue to provide our students with the best education and career training possible. Our procedures align with the 91天堂 County Health Department and our partners at the 91天堂 County School District (TCSD) as well as the State of Utah鈥檚 corona task force.

91天堂 Tech is actively monitoring the ongoing status of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community. 91天堂 County is currently in the 鈥淵ellow鈥 risk factor phase which identifies the following guidelines that are in place at the college:

Face-to-face instruction is taking place with an increased cleaning and hygiene regimen.

Employees and students are asked to wear face coverings and physically distance a minimum of 6 feet if possible.

Hand sanitizer is available in each classroom and multiple places throughout the building.

Face masks are available at the reception counter.

Tools and surfaces are sanitized before and after use.

Employees and students are monitored for symptoms.

All symptomatic employees and students should stay home. Students, staff and faculty who have reason to suspect that they could potentially have been exposed to COVID-19 are instructed to stay home and contact their medical provider and local health department for guidance.

91天堂 Tech will always keep the health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, faculty, and community at the forefront when making decisions pertaining to campus operations. We are confident that the protocols and guidelines that we have in place are adequate to keep everyone protected to the best of our ability.
